11th Grade -Self Unfoldment – Krishnan Kolady & Avinash Kashyap

Teacher's Reflections

In 11th grade, we start the high schoolers on Self Unfoldment as the focus of our discussion – starting with Happiness and Freedom and working our way through key topics such as Balance, Action, Vasanas, Mindset, Values, Integrated Mind, and facing challenges with Resilience.
The class theme was focused on Excellence through Right Thinking. Excellence is about getting to our best self through the teachings of Gita and Self Unfoldment. Right Thinking is about our approach to facing our challenges. Our attitude and mindset. Having the right mindset sets us up for success.

The classroom discussion always incorporated three elements – key themes and ideas from the text, Ted talk videos, and other resources that show how these concepts are relevant and show positive impact even in today’s world and finally hearing Gurudev’s wisdom in clips from the Gita. These three things help bring the concepts together into practical applications.
We had an amazing class this year where we had a core group of students who were very regular. They were engaged with insightful questions. We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to interact and learn from these young adults.
