During Covid, my aunt had gifted me a small crochet kit where you would make tiny Disney princesses. I used it once or twice but I was not able to make anything. One day I returned home from a class and to my surprise my mom was on floor with the kit and iPad listening to a crochet video. I sat next to her watching crochet something called a chain. I tried making a chain but was unsuccessful. She helped me as much as she could but she was also a newbie like me. Seeing her effort, a fire raged inside me as bright as the sun and that’s when I knew my crochet journey had begun.
Soon enough every night my mom would sit with me and help me build some skills. Inch by Inch I was getting better and slowly I started making small projects like coaster, coffee mug going all the way to stuffed animals and plushes. As the years passed, I became more confident and decided to invoke my skills in Chinmaya mission.
I decided to do a crochet summer camp for the first-time last year. My mom helped me in making a presentation, speech and even brought my projects to showcase during the assembly. We decided to donate all the money to Chinmaya mission as a part of charity. As I started teaching, I loved it. I got to interact with lot of new kids, made new friends and help them where they got stuck. It was a great experience, and I am so thankful to Chinmaya mission to give me this opportunity.
