Fostering my growth – Agastya Krishna

Agastya Krishna, 8th Grade

Ever since I joined Chinmaya Mission at the age of 9 in 4th grade, after I moved to America from India, every day I have come to Chinmaya Mission I have learned something new, something interesting that I did not know about previously, something that fascinated me, and many other things. I was interested in all of the interesting teachings and lessons that we gained by learning about the Vedanta and Upanishads. I also enjoyed learning about the Mahabaratha and its profound teachings. One lesson that I will always remember is the lesson that we started learning about in 8th grade the topic of dharma which is such a deep and interesting topic that I feel would take a lot of time to understand completely. Every Sunday on my drive back home from Chinmaya to Camas, WA with my brother, sister, and father we reflected on that day’s lesson. My overall Chinmaya Experience has been amazing from the wonderful friendly community formed inside, to the syllabus, to everything Chinmaya has offered. Chinmaya’s community is very friendly, I remember when I started coming to Chinmaya my teachers and classmates were very friendly to me. Other people at the center helped me get to my hindi class when I didn’t know where to go. To sum it all up, my Chinmaya experience I would say that it is a very enlightening experience that will stick with you for your entire life.
