Editor’s Letter – Soundharya Nagasubramanian

Prologue

Soundharya Nagasubramanian

As we complete the edition of this year’s Haripathrika, I am filled with gratitude for the contributions of our community. Each article is a tribute to the ever-evolving tapestry of spirituality, seva and inclusion that defines our community. From thought-provoking articles on Vedanta to pieces that share our experiences in hosting Acharyas, and celebration of festivals, this year’s Hari Patrika edition is inspiring and informative.

This is a special year with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Chinmaya Movement started by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. In this special year, I am thrilled to see that the Chinmaya Haridwar community continues to thrive – spiritual seekers and their families were very involved in all the activities of the mission as evidenced by the articles and the pictures. Bala Vihar graduates have shared excellent messages with younger classes and peers. Adult study group reflections show the engagement and spiritual journey that is fostered by Chinmaya Haridwar. Being part of a study group myself, I have enjoyed the Sat Sanga and the knowledge sharing which helps with self-enfoldment envisioned by our Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.

The spirit of Seva pervades the community with homeless shelter cooking continuing through the year with involvement from kids and volunteers. Prthvi Seva Sang expanded their seva with additional ways of recycling that helps the Earth. Tree planting also continued through the year. Many other activities such as English Language Lessons also provide evidence to the Seva spirit. This spirit supports children and families, helping them come together despite social and economic challenges.

As I reflect on the pages crafted this year, I am struck by the vibrancy and diversity of thought that our community has shared. From the insightful articles to the heartwarming stories of seva, every contribution symbolizes the essence of unity in spirituality. The spirit of togetherness shines through in every initiative, reminding us that the Chinmaya Haridwar family is not merely a gathering but a sanctuary for growth, learning, and mutual support.
With blessings from Madhur Krishna and our Gurus, I wish that Haridwar continues its tradition of spiritual education, seva and inclusion.
