Hari OM! |
|
Bhiksha, the act of offering a meal or snacks to an Acharya, is regarded as one of the foremost duties of a householder in the Hindu tradition. Offering Bhiksha to a Swami (sannyasi) is a profound way to express reverence and gratitude, strengthening the spiritual connection. Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, the esteemed head of Chinmaya Mission worldwide, is a revered spiritual leader, and it is truly a rare privilege to be in his presence and offer Bhiksha. |
|
During Swamiji’s visit to Portland, we aim to ensure that everyone who wishes to interact with Swamiji has the opportunity to do so. Each Bhiksha will accommodate 5-6 families. The morning and lunch Bhikshas will be more intimate and held at the host residence in Newberg. To protect the privacy of the hosts, the address will be shared with participants upon registration rather than being posted online. The Dinner Bhiksha will take place at Chinmaya Haridwar following the yagna. |
|
A suggested tax-deductible donation of $501 per family is requested. As part of this special experience, you will have the opportunity to cook and serve Swamiji. Additionally, each participating family will receive a keepsake photo with Pujya Swamiji at the conclusion of the Bhiksha. |
|
Important Notes: |
1. |
To ensure Swamiji’s health and well-being, we request that no one with cold or flu symptoms participate in serving him. |
2. |
Prior to your bhiksha date, we will provide details about a possible dish you can prepare for Swamiji, along with specific guidelines for receiving, serving, and offering dakshina. |
3. |
If you are a visiting Chinmaya family or unable to cook, please let us know when signing up. We will arrange for the dish on your behalf. |
